Faraz Ali is an Indian writer/director known for his nuanced narratives in film and commercial disciplines. His films are often thematically nostalgic and influenced by objects that tell a human story. The cinematic aesthetic of his stories is formed by his meticulous design of colour and texture in every frame.
Faraz’s training reflects his diverse interests. After his Masters in Advertising, he went to an immersive film appreciation program at FTII, Pune and was also mentored by Werner Herzog at the Rogue Film School in Munich, Germany.
He loves restoring optical toys, projectors and film negatives in an effort to archive fragments of cinema history. Faraz is the co-founder of Going Rogue Films (wearegoingrogue.com). He is currently writing and directing his debut feature film, which is due to finish in 2019.
